Black Author’s Festival
The Black Authors Festival is a nationally recognized cultural institution dedicated to celebrating Black literary excellence, advancing literacy, and protecting freedom of expression. Rooted in the belief that storytelling is both a creative act and a civil right, Black Authors Festival convenes authors, journalists, scholars, and cultural leaders whose voices shape history and public discourse.
In 2026, the Festival returns to Sag Harbor, New York on Saturday, August 1, 2026, and expands to Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, September 12, 2026, marking a powerful moment of national growth.
Under the theme The Right to Write, Black Authors Festival stands against censorship and book banning while affirming First Amendment rights for all Americans, amplifying authentic Black stories and strengthening literacy across communities.
The Black Authors Festival is more than an event, it is a movement to write, protect, and preserve our stories for generations to come.
