Hey Festies!

My love for festivals started in 2017 when I attended Essence Fest in New Orleans for the first time. The city felt like a real-life Wakanda, filled with Black hair, fashion, music and food and I was instantly hooked to both festival life and Nawlins. From then, I’d take a 4-day weekend to go to as many festivals designed for Black culture as I could to recharge before another humdrum week of reality.

While working 50+ hours a week in corporate sales and raising Team Turn Up (my two sons), I wished there was one website to find festivals that interested me instead of Googling “Black music festivals” and scrolling through multiple sites to find where to go next. I knew there were other Festies that wanted a simpler way to find the best Next Fests as well and put my journalism degree to good use by blogging about events in more details.

A Vibe Called Fests was created to simplify the process of finding events curated for Black culture to vibe out or  connect with other travel and music enthusiasts.
