The Only 2026 Afro Nation Guide You Need: Lineup, Dates, Ticket Prices and More

If you're headed to Afro Nation Portugal from the USA, planning ahead will help you be in the moment for the festivities. This year’s festival will be held from July 3-5 at Praia da Rocha Beach in Portimão, Algarve, Portugal. The lineup is a gold mine of performers from all over Africa and the Diaspora that will keep the energy up. This guide covers Afro Nation’s age limit, trying to figure out if VIP passes are actually worth the splurge, and answers to frequently asked questions. Read along to navigate the world's biggest Afro-diasporic festival without missing a single beat.

Afro Nation 2026 Lineup

The weekend is starting off strong with international stars Burna Boy from Nigeria, Tyla and DJ Uncle Waffles from South Africa, Kenya’s Bien and Gunna from the states. And that’s just Friday! Kehlani, Asake, Olamide and Wizkid will also be blessing the stage throughout the weekend.

There will be three stages on the festival grounds so you can pick your vibe. One is the Lit stage with major artists, the Piano People Stage which is fully focused on Amapiano and other South African sounds. This year is the first for the Afrotronic Takeover stage which is exclusive to electronic music like Afro House and Afro Tech.

Tickets, Prices, and Payment Plans

How much are we talking?

The final release of tickets are priced as follows:

  • GA tickets are $480 USD.

  • VIP tickets are $720 USD.

  • Golden Tickets are $960 USD.

Which ticket should I get?

“Here for the Vibes” Pick between GA or VIP. General Admission is obviously the least expensive but you can ball on a budget. In this area you can access the food court, merch table, seven bars spread out and Instagramable spots. If you just want to have your face in the place go with GA so you’ll have more funds to spend at the festival, on housing or enjoying Portimão. Bring a blanket and you can post up for a while at one stage when you want to chill.

“Bad and Bougie” Go with the Golden Ticket or VIP. You’ll appreciate the extra features, comfort, speed, and can still hang out in the GA area when you want. This tier includes access to the VIP Oasis, a private beach with a restaurant and table service behind the Lit Stage. Golden Ticket gets you access to everything else plus the best views at the festival and an one exclusive Afro Nation merch item.

  • Festi Fact: I usually buy one tier above general admission because the porto-potties in GA are always nasty after day one, more seating and to have a space to go if my anxiety gets bad. If you need a quiet place and buy a GA ticket, you can always go near the medical tent. Or look for Zen/wellness areas on festival maps because they are being included as activations more often. It’s a place to chill and I’ve seen sound baths, yoga and other experiences advertised at festivals, in general.

*The Hennessey Sky terrace is located on the GA side. You’d have premium views, bottle services and a DJ. Four or six person tables can be reserved. The price breaks down to $560 per person, per day.

Payment Plan

We are weeks from the festival so payment plans are not available.
